چکیده

In this paper we present a probabilistic-timed process algebra, which try to unify the best solutions of previous probabilistic and timed algebras. We provide an operational semantics for the new language (PTPA), and from this operational semantics we define a testing semantics based on the probability with which processes pass tests. Afterwards the induced testing equivalence is operationally characterized by probabilistic timed traces.

A theory of Stochastic systems. Part II: Process algebra

This paper introduces (pronounce spades), a stochastic process algebra for discrete-event systems, that extends traditional process algebra with timed actions whose delay is governed by general (a.o. continuous) probability distributions. The operational semantics is defined in terms of stochastic automata, a model that uses clocks—like in timed automata—to symbolically represent randomly timed...

Denotational Semantics for Probabilistic Refusal Testing

In this paper, refusal testing ideas are applied to deene a testing semantics for a probabilistic process algebra. A testing equivalence is deened by combining the greater discriminatory power of refusal testing and a simple treatment of the prob-abilistic component of processes. This testing equivalence is characterized by two fully abstract denotational semantics. The rst of them is based on ...

Expressing Priorities and External Probabilities in Process Algebra via Mixed Open/Closed Systems

Defining operational semantics for a process algebra is often based either on labeled transition systems that account for interaction with a context or on the so-called reduction semantics: we assume to have a representation of the whole system and we compute unlabeled reduction transitions (leading to a distribution over states in the probabilistic case). In this paper we consider mixed models...

A Decidable Probability Logic for Timed Probabilistic Systems

In this paper we extend the predicate logic introduced in [Beauquier et al. 2002] in order to deal with Semi-Markov Processes. We prove that with respect to qualitative probabilistic properties, model checking is decidable for this logic applied to SemiMarkov Processes. Furthermore we apply our logic to Probabilistic Timed Automata considering classical and urgent semantics, and considering als...

A Decidable Probability Logic for Timed and Untimed Probabilistic Systems

In this paper we extend the predicate logic introduced in [BRS02] in order to deal with Semi-Markov Processes. We prove that with respect to qualitative probabilistic properties, model checking is decidable for this logic applied to Semi-Markov Processes. Furthermore we apply our logic to Probabilistic Timed Automata considering classical and urgent semantics, and considering also predicates on...
